When his young daughter suffered complications from gastritis, Onesmus Muthuri ventured into vertical farming to secure a steady supply of vegetables with a reduced need for pest control chemicals.The vertical farming, which uses 90 per cent less water than conventional farming, as well as less space, requires far fewer chemicals for pest control.
