The Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation (KALRO) and the University of Nairobi have launched a new bean variety, Kenya Mali, which is highly resistant to drought thanks to its deep roots and can grow well in any region in Kenya. The new bean is also resistant to angular leaf spot, root rot, bacterial blight and rust.
